BLA (Basolateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:295 projects to Isocortex MBA:315 · Mouse
Retrograde CAV2-Cre was injected into the FrA together with Cre-dependent ArchT-GFP or GFP in the BLA. Labelled FrA-projecting neurons were found throughout the BLA.

LA (Lateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:131 projects to Isocortex MBA:315 · Mouse
After retrograde CAV2-Cre in the FrA combined with Cre-dependent GFP in the amygdala, no GFP-expressing neurons were found in the lateral amygdala.

BLA (Basolateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:295 projects to PL (Prelimbic area) MBA:972 · Mouse
The FrA-projecting subset of BLA neurons, labelled intersectionally, sent no GFP axon collaterals to the prelimbic cortex. This applies to that subpopulation only, not to BLA neurons as a whole.

BLA (Basolateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:295 projects to ILA (Infralimbic area) MBA:44 · Mouse
The FrA-projecting subset of BLA neurons, labelled intersectionally, showed no GFP axons in the infralimbic cortex.

BLA (Basolateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:295 functionally connects to Isocortex MBA:315 · Mouse
In slices, light activation of ChR2-expressing BLA axons evoked short-latency, low-jitter EPSCs in FrA L2/3 pyramidal neurons, consistent with a monosynaptic connection. In vivo, photostimulating BLA produced depolarizations in every recorded FrA neuron, although these responses were weak and variable.

BLA (Basolateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:295 projects to Isocortex MBA:315 · Mouse
Viral expression of ChR2-YFP or GCaMP6f in the BLA labelled axons that reached the ipsilateral FrA. These axons were concentrated in superficial layer 1, within about 150 µm of the pia.

BLA (Basolateral amygdalar nucleus) MBA:295 projects to MOs (Secondary motor area) MBA:993 · Mouse
BLA neurons were labelled intersectionally through their FrA projection. GFP-expressing axons from these neurons were seen in M2 as well as in the FrA.
